Process
Initial Market Research
Indonesia has the world’s biggest ‘young’ population. It is home to 165 million people under the age of 30.
Archetypes
These statistics highlight the potential for providing accessible and easy-to-use banking and investment tools through a mobile app to tap into the growing awareness of savings and investments among the youth population in Indonesia.
User Research
Interviews revealed 3 pain points in younger generations
I conducted 5 interviews with Indonesian GEN Z to understand their needs and frustrations. Through a synthesis, I created a journey map of a typical user's banking experience and identified the main pain points they face while managing their finances.
But also revealed areas of need that I could capitalize on to create an end-to-end banking experience
Archetype
By creating personas, I was able to gain insights into the preferences and pain points of potential users. This allowed me to develop a solution that is tailored to their specific needs, ensuring that it meets their expectations and delivers a seamless experience. The personas helped me set a standard for the solution, guiding my design decisions and ensuring that it aligned with the target users' expectations.
Competitive Analysis
Competitor analysis guided our feature development, identifying market-available features for our banking solution.
Opportunities Areas
I transformed the identified pain points into "how might we" statements, enabling me to prioritize and address them while developing the solution.
Scrappy Scribbles
Early Achievements
Moodboard
The mood board helped us to visually define the desired look and feel of the app, including color palettes, typography, imagery, and overall design elements.
Wireframes
To validate our ideas, we utilized wireframes as a prototyping tool to visualize the layout and functionality of our platform before moving on to the actual design phase.
Design Decisions
Logo
The earthen pot logo is inspired by the Asian custom of saving earnings in unopenable pots, which are broken when needed or in emergencies. It symbolizes the cultural significance of saving and financial preparedness
Font
Bely Display font conveys professionalism, trustworthiness, and modernity for a banking app logo. Its legibility and distinctiveness enhance brand recognition, considering factors such as brand personality, target audience, and design aesthetics
One way to achieve this is by designing an intuitive and user-friendly mobile app that streamlines the onboarding process.
